Congressman Don Davis (NC-1) promised his constituents that he would take on big drug companies and lower prescription drug prices. However, his actions tell a different story. Instead of standing up to drug companies, Congressman Davis has stood up FOR them after accepting tens of thousands of dollars in contributions from pharmaceutical giants, including Gilead, Astellas, Genentech, Bayer, Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, Amgen, Boehringer Ingelheim, Merck, AbbVie, and Eli Lilly.
Despite overwhelming support from voters for Medicare negotiation to lower prescription drug prices, Davis is the LONE Democrat to sponsor legislation undermining Medicare’s ability to negotiate lower drug prices.
Voters in North Carolina must understand that Davis has reneged on his campaign promise and is now supporting legislation that weakens Medicare’s ability to negotiate, ultimately leading to higher prices for roughly 90 percent of the prescription drugs Americans rely on.
Tell Don Davis to stand up for patients, not drug companies.
